HOW DO YOU STAY FIT & MOTIVATED IN WINTER??
It happens, we are affected by the weather, the darkness increasing as the days get shorter. It CAN BE harder to get out of bed, or we can put some preventative measures in place to keep our momentum!
1. GET OUTDOORS TO PLACES YOUR HEART SINGS. GO ON ADVENTURES.
Go to the beach or start running somewhere you look forward to going, vs being inside which doesn't elevate your mood. Then plan an adventure to run a new national park each weekend! Or go explore and take your exercise to a new place every 2nd weekend.
2. GRAB A FRIEND & LOCK IN A REGULAR SWEAT DATE
A regular sweat date with them can encourage you to keep your training the rest of the week because you need to keep up with them that 1 x a week. It also keeps you accountable! (We are HUGE on accountability!)
3. PLAY THAT FUNKY MUSIC
If you setup a new playlist of tunes that get your toes tapping, you can't withhold your energy. It will give you the bounce to get started. All we need to is to START!
4. SET A GOAL FOR THE END OF WINTER
If you set a goal of racing that 21.1km half marathon across the Sydney Harbour Bridge in September, there's no way you can just turn up and do it.
5. JOIN A GROUP OR SIGN UP FOR MONTHLY TRIAL AT A NEW PLACE
Use the Mind Body App (we aren't paid to mention them, we just love and use it all the time) to find a nearby 1 month trial at a new yoga or pilates studio. Maybe you spend winter and do 1 x month x 3 studios and you try 1 month at yoga, 1 month at cross fit and 1 x month at a pilates studio!? Cool idea hey!
